Administrative Assistant for the Office of Academics

Southern Virginia University is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Provost’s Office to help manage the academic operations of our growing educational institution. Clear task-orientation, adaptability, and interpersonal skills are crucial. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems, Qualtrics, Excel, and other software
  • Experience in managing tasks, workflow, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work well with others and independently
  • Ability to articulate academic processes and assessment goals


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Education or other related field
  • Experience in a Higher Education setting


Responsibilities
  • Organize and articulate curriculum modifications
  • Collect and distribute minutes and other documents for Academic Affairs Council
  • Assist with accreditation and assessment
  • Oversee Learning Management Systems, academic software, and teaching technology
  • Write bulletins, emails, and other communications to faculty/students
  • Teach courses (based on qualifications)
  • Coordinate campus faculty visits
  • Interact with faculty, students, and administrators in a friendly, professional manner
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Compensation

Starting salary range between $40,000–55,000, depending on experience and qualifications

About the Provost’s Office

The Provost’s Office serves the faculty and students as the centralized office for teaching, research, and service. Together with the Associate Provosts and Division Chairs, we work collaboratively to ensure that curriculum, instruction, and research is carried out with competence, enthusiasm, and innovation.
