  • Student Success pairs you with a success coach to help you get the most out of your collegiate experience. Your success coach can help you develop your time-management, plot a course to help you graduate on time, or answer any questions that come up along the way!

  • Every Southern Virginia University student is assigned a full-time faculty member to be their Academic Advisor. With their expertise, your Advisor will help you:

    • Create a personalized education track
    • Connect to campus services
    • Explore a major/minor/concentration
    • Get answers to questions about University policies and procedures
    • Choose classes to stay on track for graduation
    • Prepare for graduate school admission



  • The Registrar assists you in all things relating to your courses and credits on your way to graduation.

    The Office of the Registrar will help you with:

    • Creating or adjusting your course schedule
    • Transferring credits
    • Assessing progress towards graduation

  • If you need some extra support on a specific subject, we provide a variety of program-specific tutoring. You can attend regular tutoring sessions or just drop in for help on a project or upcoming exam.

  • The Writing Center is the official workspace on campus for writing, brainstorming, and editing. Whether you need help on a paper or would like to become a better writer overall, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation with the center’s writing coaches for support with any writing, reading, or presentation assignment at any stage of the composition process.

  • The Launch Center for Career Development equips students for success after graduation by providing personalized support and guidance with faculty and alumni connections and mentorship, career preparation, and tutoring for job and graduate school applications.
