Move-In & Orientation Schedule

9 a.m.–5 p.m. University Check-in: Pick up your welcome packet, Student ID, and iPad bundle (in the Main Hall Lobby)
9 a.m.–5 p.m. University Housing Check-in (at your Residence Hall)
1 –4 p.m. Connect BV: Explore downtown Buena Vista with your family (Magnolia and 21st St.)
6 –8 p.m. Dinner & Games Hosted by the Southern Virginia Institute of Religion (at the Institute Building)

7:30–8:30 a.m. Sunrise Hike with the Cordons: Hike on the river walk with President Bonnie H. Cordon and Derek Cordon (meet on the front steps of Main Hall at 7:30a.m.)
8–10 a.m. University Check-in: Pick up your welcome packet, Student ID, and iPad bundle (in the Main Hall Lobby)
9–9:50 a.m. Honors Program Orientation: All interested students and their families are invited to attend (at the Peristyle in front of Main Hall)
10–10:50 a.m. Official Welcome to SVU: Featuring President Cordon; students and their families are highly encouraged to attend. (at the Knight Arena)
10:50 a.m.–Noon University Fair: Learn about student resources, clubs, organizations, and more! (on the Quad)
4–4:45 p.m. Peer Mentor Introduction: Gather with your peer mentor group in preparation for Knight 101 (your peer mentor will contact you with location details)
5:30 p.m. Freshmen Class Photo (at the Fields)
6–8 p.m. Festival at the Fields: A campus-wide event with food, games, women’s soccer game, and more! (at the Fields)
