Assistant Professor of History

Responsibilities
- Undergraduate teaching within the University Core and the History major
- In rotation with other faculty, the candidate will also teach courses on historical methods, research, and writing. Additionally, the position includes mentorship of students, course development, curriculum revision, and continued improvement of a growing history major.

Minimum Qualifications
- Masters in History or related field
- The ideal candidate will have evidence of effective teaching in small classes and subject matter mastery in their field.
- The History program consists of several broad survey courses, upper-division seminars, and two research methodology courses. The ideal candidate will adapt existing surveys according to their research interests and area of specialization, and create new upper-division seminar courses based on student interest and the candidate’s own interests.
Preferred Qualifications
- A PhD in History is strongly preferred, though candidates with a PhD in a closely related field will also be considered.
