Access Services and Reference Coordinator
Part-time
Responsibilities
- Manage the team of highly engaged student workers
- Train and mentor student circulation workers
- Assist librarians with training sessions for the upper-division student reference team
- Expand and further develop faculty access to Open Educational Resources
- Assist with Library projects and events as needed
- Work with the Library Director to increase outreach to students
- Develop and maintain student training materials
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience providing Reference services
- Supervisory experience
- Google suite, Microsoft office, and intermediate Excel skills
- Strong commitment to patron service and teamwork
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Southern Virginia University and the Library’s role within that mission
- Effective and clear communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Library instructional theory
- Experience with Canvas
- Awareness of current trends in library instruction, especially AI
