About the Race

Southern Virginia University gathers students from all around the United States, but many come from right here in Rockbridge County. This race is meant to foster that relationship between our local Knights and grow closer as a campus community: current, past, and future students.
All proceeds from this race will fund local student scholarships for students from Buena Vista, Lexington, and Rockbridge County areas.

Race Day Schedule — October 31

7:30AM

Volunteer & Staff Check-in and Briefing

8:00 AM

Race Day Registration & Packet Pickup Opens

8:45 AM

Pre-Race Announcements & Music Starts

9:15 AM

5K Participants to the Starting Line / Welcome Remarks / National Anthem

9:30 AM

Knight Run 5K Starts

10:30 AM


  • Food Trucks & Bouncy House Open

  • Knights in Training Obstacle Course begins

  • Alumni Tailgate begins

10:45 AM

Post-Race Awards Ceremony (Top Finishers, Age Groups, etc.)

Kids' Obstacle Course

The Kids' Obstacle Course, for children 12 and younger, will be free to enter.

Food Trucks

Food trucks will be at the race site to provide food during and after the race.

Live Music

Enjoy songs from Dr. Dransfield's band on the quad

Family activities

Cornhole, spikeball, and other games will be out for families to enjoy and have a good time.

$30 Early Bird Pricing
$35 After September 30th

Packets can be picked up from a table in the lobby of the Main Hall at SVU on October 30th between 9 AM–5 PM.
