You’re Writing Your Story at SVU, Help Write Theirs

Southern Virginia University isn’t just a school, it's a community that you have helped to build. Every conversation you have, every post you share, and every friend you invite to visit is part of how SVU grows.

How You Can Help SVU Grow

You’re The Best Ad For SVU

We all know it. The best life is the Knight Life. That is what you get to experience every day in each class, each practice, performance, and game.

When you share what you are learning, who you are becoming, and why you chose SVU — and continue to choose SVU — you’re creating a meaningful image of what SVU is. That is more impactful than any ad your friends and family could see.

  1. Talk about it.

Tell friends, family, and your home ward about your experience. All of it — the classes, the professors, the community.

  2. Post about it.

Share your SVU life on social media. Tag us. Show the real, everyday moments that make SVU special for all of us.

  3. Bring someone with you.

Invite a friend to visit campus, sit in on a class, or come to a sporting event.

How SVU’s Growth Benefits You

A Bigger SVU Is a Better SVU — For You

SVU’s growth increases everything that you already love about this wonderful place. Every dance and sporting event will be even more exciting. Growing SVU’s student body expands it’s community, taking the Knight Life to new heights.

Your experience improves.

Growth brings new programs, better facilities, and more opportunities — while SVU stays committed to the size and community that made it special.

Your network expands.

More alumni means more connections, more mentors, and more open doors in your career.

Your degree becomes more recognizable.

As SVU’s reputation grows, so does the credibility of the education you are earning.

Why Refer Your Church Leader

Your leader already knows the youth and young adults in your ward or stake — the ones wondering what’s next after high school, or still figuring out their path. Referring them gives SVU a chance to connect directly with your community, through someone they already know and trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

A member of our team will reach out and invite them to have someone from SVU attend and present at one of their youth or YSA events. It’s a chance for their group to learn more about SVU directly. Their information won’t be used for anything beyond that outreach.
If your group is smaller than 100 people, we’ll usually meet with you virtually. If you’re part of a YSA Conference or a larger youth event with more than 100 attendees, ask your leader to request an in-person visit — we’d love to travel to you!
Talk to your leader as early as you can! We recommend they submit the request at least 2 weeks before a virtual appearance and 1 month before an in-person event, so we have time to confirm the right speaker and coordinate travel.
That’s okay! Have your leader reach out so we can meet, understand what you and your fellow youth or YSAs are looking for, and put together a message crafted just for your group.
Once your leader submits the request, someone from our team will reach out to them within 1 business day.
