Walker Hoopes

Growing up in Star Valley, Wyoming, as the oldest of six brothers, I was immersed in a family-oriented, sports-driven environment. After serving a mission in Texas, I pursued my education at Utah State University and BYU–Idaho, where I began my career in higher education as a student ambassador and later as an admissions counselor. I quickly discovered how fulfilling it is to help students navigate their college decisions and envision their futures.

After a stint in the corporate world, I returned to my roots in coaching and admissions at Southern Virginia University, where I now serve as an assistant wrestling coach and admissions counselor. My wife and I are blessed with a daughter, and another child is on the way. I’m excited to help students from my region find their home at SVU and mentor them as they take their next steps toward the future!
