Faculty

Richard Gardner

Professor of Biology; Biology Program Coordinator

“I teach my students that science is not just how nature works, but the creative process by which humans discover how nature works. At Southern Virginia University, I have the opportunity to know my students individually. I enjoy watching pre-health professionals, biology, and biochemistry majors advance to careers in science and medicine, as well as helping students in other majors learn that they like biology more than they thought they would. ”
