Dykell Jones

I’m grateful I made the decision to move across the country to attend Southern Virginia University—it has shaped my life in countless meaningful ways. Coming from the small town of Enterprise, Utah, I quickly felt at home in Buena Vista thanks to its own close-knit community and small-town charm. As a student, I was blessed to make lifelong friends, grow under the guidance of incredible mentors, play four years of collegiate softball, and graduate with a degree in Psychology with concentrations in Sports Management and Coaching.

SVU became more than just a university to me—it became a second home. The Christ-centered environment influenced not only my academic and athletic experiences but also the strong, faith-filled relationships I built along the way. I’m now pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Management and continue to stay active in the things I love, from playing and watching sports to camping, four-wheeling, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

I’m truly excited to help students create their own meaningful connections here and find a place where they can thrive. I’m grateful for all that SVU has given me, and I look forward to giving back by helping others find their home in the Knight community.
