Donnie Tapp

Assistant Professor of Art

“My favorite definition of art describes it as an aesthetic, which is interesting to consider in antithetical terms: while anesthesia is known for its ability to dull, decrease awareness, numb, or make unaware, art as an aesthetic has the power to sharpen, increase empathy, enliven, and awaken. I believe an earnest study of art and design leads to these outcomes, and it’s a great privilege to recognize them taking place in my own life as I continue to learn as an artist.”
