Visit Campus

Visiting our beautiful campus is the best way to experience our unique brand of personalized education and learn about our distinctive mission to gather, lift, and launch members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

To make visiting campus more affordable, we reimburse travel expenses at 20¢ per mile up to $400.

Classroom Experience

Prospective students are given the opportunity to sit in on classes in order to experience the top-tier education available at Southern Virginia University. For a list of classes available, contact your admissions director.

Campus Tours

The university campus is historic and beautiful. As part of a campus visit, admission directors lead tours of campus facilities for prospective students and their parents, offering insights and information about the past, present, and future of the school.

Athletic ID Camps

Showcase your talents for one of our 23 NCAA Division III athletic teams. If you are are interested in playing a varsity sport, you may register for an Athletic ID Camp, contact a coach or talk with your admissions director to schedule a workout.

Performing Arts Auditions

Students visiting campus may audition for scholarships in the performing arts, including instrumental, vocal, or theatrical scholarships. Contact your admissions director to schedule an individual audition.

Travel Reimbursement

To make travel to campus a possibility for prospective students across the country, Southern Virginia University will reimburse some of your travel expenses for visiting campus. For more details contact your admissions director.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visits are limited and subject to change. After you schedule your visit, your Admissions Director will reach out to confirm your visit date.


All visitors are asked to follow our Healthy Campus Plan. Please review the Four Pillars of Personal Responsibility before scheduling your visit.


All visitors must be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival to campus. To be prepared for testing, before arriving on campus you should:

  1. Review the notice of Privacy Practices
  2. Sign the COVID-19 Screening Consent Form
  3. Download the NAVICA app (from the Apple App Store or Google Play)
  4. Remember to bring photo ID

We also highly recommend receiving a COVID-19 test before traveling to campus, since visitors who test positive for COVID-19 will have to quarantine.
