Assistant Director of Admissions

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans designed to increase inquiries, applications, campus visits, and enrollment conversion.
- Manage prospective student communication flows across email, text, phone, print, and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing and admissions teams to create compelling enrollment content and recruitment campaigns.
- Assist in the development of digital marketing strategies, including lead generation, social media engagement, and campaign tracking.
- Analyze recruitment and marketing performance metrics to improve engagement and conversion outcomes.
- Support branding and messaging efforts that communicate Southern Virginia University’s mission, culture, and student experience.
- Serve as a primary administrator and strategist for the admissions CRM system.
- Build and maintain communication workflows, automations, dashboards, reports, and recruitment pipelines.
- Ensure data integrity, segmentation accuracy, and efficient prospect management processes.
- Develop reporting tools and enrollment analytics to support admissions decision-making and recruitment forecasting.
- Train admissions staff on CRM best practices and communication standards.
- Coordinate CRM integrations and liaise with IT to support process improvements across admissions operations.
- Recruit and counsel prospective students and families throughout the admissions process.
- Assist with recruitment territory management and admissions events as needed.
- Support campus visit experiences, admitted student programs, and enrollment initiatives.
- Represent the university at recruitment events, conferences, and community outreach activities.
- Supervise student workers or admissions staff as assigned.
- Contribute to departmental planning, enrollment strategy development, and annual recruitment goals.
- Strategic thinking with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret enrollment data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong relationship-building and collaborative leadership skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel/reporting tools, and communication platforms.
- Ability to balance mission-centered recruitment with data-informed enrollment practices.
- Professional presentation and public speaking skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in admissions, enrollment marketing, CRM management, higher education marketing, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of CRM systems, marketing automation, and data-driven communication strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Southern Virginia University.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience with Slate, Salesforce, Element451, HubSpot, or similar CRM/enrollment platforms.
- Familiarity with digital advertising, lead nurturing, and enrollment funnel analytics.
