Sarah Maitland is an assistant professor of English at the University of Southern Virginia.
Maitland’s teaching and research interests include 18th and 19th British literature, developmental writing, ELL studies, technological literacy, medical humanities, and popular culture and film. Maitland has presented her work at the North American Society for the Study of Romanticism, the 19th Century Studies Association, the International Conference on Romanticism, the Wordsworth Summer Conference, and the Popular Culture Association National Conference.
Prior to coming to Southern Virginia University in 2017, Maitland was a lecturer at Bryant University. She has also taught at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, the University of Rhode Island, Johnson and Wales University, and Providence College.
