There are two great lessons I learned in grad school that have become personal touchstones for me. First, those who know “how” always work for those who know “why.”  Second, great leaders focus on results, average leaders focus on activities, and poor leaders focus on how people look while performing the activities. I try to teach the “why” and don’t much worry about how people look if they get results.
