Managing Director of Admissions

Southern Virginia University is seeking a Managing Director of Admissions to oversee the university’s recruiting efforts and strategy in support of our Mission. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, duties for this position include developing and executing recruiting strategies, training admissions counselors on best practices for sales and recruiting, and conducting recruiting funnel analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional work experience (preferably admissions, marketing, or sales)
  • 2+ years of experience managing high-impact teams
  • Ability to meet goals and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preffered Abilities

  • Background in higher education recruiting or sales
  • Leadership experience
  • Proficiency in excel
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM (Hubspot, Slate, Adobe, etc.)
  • Master’s Degree

Responsibilities

  • Manage the admissions team, responsible for recruiting more than 500 new students annually
  • Provide sales and compliance training to admissions counselors
  • Develop and maintain admissions policies and procedures
  • Track team and individual contributor KPIs and ensure goals are met
  • Plan and execute admissions events, such as open houses, off-campus trips, and virtual events
  • Other duties as assigned
