Southern Virginia University seeks applications for a full-time Lab Manager starting in the Fall of 2023. Primary responsibilities include management of Biology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry laboratory spaces. This position will additionally require part-time teaching.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the maintenance of lab equipment, proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials, assessment of laboratory needs, and the enforcement of legal safety standards. Candidates are expected to have knowledge of current standards and certifications required for safety management of university lab spaces. Strong capabilities of coordination and collaboration with faculty and administrative bodies is desired. In addition to lab duties, the position includes teaching courses on an as needed basis. Minimum of a M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field is required.
