Southern Virginia University seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Art starting in the Fall of 2024. Major responsibilities include teaching, development of curriculum, undergraduate advising, and university service.

The ideal candidate will have a proven teaching record including evidence of effective teaching in small classes. The typical teaching load for a full- time instructor is 4 courses per semester. The position additionally requires mentorship of students, course development, curriculum revision, and continued improvement of a growing Art major. Minimum of an M.A. in Art or related field is required, preferred candidates will hold an MFA or PhD. Candidates with significant studio art experience are encouraged to apply. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
