Adjunct Teaching Position in Chemistry
Starting date: January 2024
The Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Southern Virginia University seeks to hire an adjunct instructor of Chemistry.
Southern Virginia University emphasizes small class sizes to optimize instructor-student interaction. The Chemistry program also provides labs with hands-on activities to translate theory into practice. The Chemistry program serves a growing number of students applying to graduate programs in the medical and health field but also includes students interested in academia, research, and teaching.
The ideal candidate will have at least a master’s degree or 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area of interest and be available to teach on campus. Teaching experience as a professor, adjunct, and/or graduate assistant with a terminal degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred. Possible courses may include General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and/or other courses intended for non-majors.
