Adjunct Teaching Position in Biology
Starting date: August 2023
The Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Southern Virginia University seeks to hire an adjunct instructor of Biology.
Southern Virginia University emphasizes small class sizes to optimize instructor-student interaction. The Biology program also provides a number of labs with hands-on activities to translate theory into practice. The Biology program serves a growing number of students applying to graduate programs in the medical and health field, but also includes students interested in academia, research, and teaching.
The ideal candidate will have at least a master’s degree or 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area of interest. Teaching experience as a professor, adjunct and/or graduate assistant with a terminal degree in Biology or a related field is preferred. Possible courses to teach may include Anatomy and Physiology, General Biology, Environmental Science, and/or other course intended for non-majors.
