Need determined by balance owed to the university at the end of the last semester in which a student was enrolled at the university with the assumption that the student entered into enrollment with the expectation of being able to afford the education, however, due to the severe economic impacts of the pandemic the student and their family were unable to afford their educational expenses while enrolled. Funding was allocated to students using their unpaid balance to the university as a baseline in order to assist the student be able to continue their education, either at the university or transfer their credits to another institution.
