I am originally from Reston, Virginia. Growing up right outside of Washington D.C. has provided me with knowledge and awareness of cultural differences and shaped me into who I am. I was blessed with the opportunity to play collegiate football at Southern Virginia University and I found my passion in Family and Human Development. Watching the university grow over the years has been amazing and I knew right away I wanted to be a part of that growth.

Originally from Colorado (just outside of Denver), I spent a good portion of my childhood running, jumping, and swinging as I did gymnastics for almost 10 years. I attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in sociology and special education. While at UNC, I met and married my husband, and since that time we have lived in five states and have raised eight children. In my free time, I love to read historical fiction and watch Hallmark movies. I’ve been in Buena Vista since 2019. I love living in this part of the country, and I love helping students here at Southern Virginia University.

I am originally from New Jersey but moved down to Virginia when I was 17. I recently graduated from Southern Virginia University with my bachelor’s degree in English. I love reading and talking about books— especially J.R.R. Tolkien! I also love helping people with their education journey and I am excited to help you not only succeed but find your place here!

I grew up in Washington State, though I was born in Virginia, and knew that I wanted to return to the east coast for college. I was drawn to Southern Virginia University’s uplifting environment, small class sizes, and the opportunity to run on the cross country/track team. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Austin, Texas, I returned to SVU, discovered a passion for psychology and coaching, and met my husband. I enjoy playing the piano, hiking, curling up with a book, and a good conversation. I look forward to helping you on your journey here at Southern Virginia University!
