I am a native Virginian and Southern Virginia University alumni. On the weekends you can catch me reading, working on home projects, and spending quality time with my wife and kids. I take great satisfaction in helping you and your family set up financial arrangements, especially the results of seeing those I help go from incoming students to graduates. My goal is to help make your Southern Virginia University experience great.
After living in several states and one foreign country, we moved our family to Virginia in 2007. This is now home, and we love it here. I began working at Southern Virginia University in 2011. While working, I took the opportunity to finish my degree and graduated from the University in 2016 with a degree in Liberal Arts. I will also complete my master’s degree in Human Services/Student Affairs from Regent University in summer 2021. I enjoy traveling with my husband and having my children come and visit. I love the beach, the Washington Nationals, and baking. I am grateful for the opportunity to help students navigate the world of financial aid so they can pursue their dreams of a college education.
Originally from Houston, Texas, I came to Southern Virginia University first as a student, where I’ve studied both family & human development and business. I love to dance and was on the University’s dance team for four years. Now I enjoy spending my free time outdoors floating the Maury River and hiking through the Blue Ridge with my husband. My goal in Student Financial Services is to make finances easy to understand and unintimidating so students can feel confident during their time here. I look forward to helping you!
Born and raised in the desert in Mesa, Arizona, I have enjoyed experiencing all four distinct seasons here in Virginia (although I’m still getting used to the humidity). Other than going on outdoor adventures with my family like scuba diving and exploring the sand dunes, I would consider myself a homebody—I love books, movies, and video games! I have also studied American Sign Language. I love the culture and community here at Southern Virginia University and I’m excited to help you!
