Library Reference and Outreach Coordinator
Full-time
Responsibilities
- Conduct Reference Training sessions with the Reference Team of upper-division students.
- Assist with the training and mentoring of student workers.
- Expand and further develop access by faculty to Open Educational Resources.
- Assist with Library projects and events as needed.
- Work with the Library Director to increase outreach to students, including:
- Helping students to be more familiar with Library resources
- Conduct training sessions on library resources for students
- Maintain Student Training Materials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience providing Reference services.
- Supervisory experience.
- Google suite, Microsoft office, especially Excel.
- Strong commitment to patron service and teamwork.
- Understanding and commitment to the mission of Southern Virginia University and the Library’s role within that mission.
- Effective and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Library instructional theory.
- Experience with Canvas.
- Awareness of current trends in library instruction, especially AI.
