Trace the footsteps and view the magnificent works of some of the most talented artists in history.
Stand beneath the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and marvel at Michelangelo’s miraculous fresco. View the panorama of Florence from the top of Brunelleschi’s famous dome. Experience some of the world’s greatest achievements in art and architecture in Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan and Assisi.
Students will stay in tourist-class hotels throughout their stay in Italy with no food included.
Students will fly coach round-trip from Washington, D.C. In Italy, students will travel by train from location to location and by public transportation within each city.
Program fees include all transportation (excluding airfare), lodging, international health insurance, and all entrance fees for planned excursions. Students will be responsible for all meals, any additional personal expenses (souvenirs, snacks, etc.) as well as any passports or visas required for travel.
Tuition is not included and must be paid in addition to program fees. Remember, students with 56 credit hours at Southern Virginia are eligible for a $400 voucher that can be applied towards the cost of the program! This trip is also eligible for the new Provost Travel Study Scholarship. Applications are due March 1, 2016 and awarded before the end of the semester.
Prices are tentative and will stay within ten percent of the listed cost for those students who have payed their deposit and made financial arrangements with Student Financial Services by December 1st. |May 8-9||In Rome, visit the Vatican Museums, the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Galleria Borghese, home to Bernini’s renowned sculptures.|
|May 10-11||Enjoy the medieval Umbrian hill town of Spello and take a day trip to Assisi.|
|May 12-13||In Florence, visit the birthplace of the renaissance and home to the Duomo, Uffizi and Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze.|
|May 14-15||Spend two days in Venice and take in sites like San Marco, the Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge.|
|May 16-17||Visit Milan and see Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper and Milan’s French Gothic Duomo.|
|May 18||Depart Milan for Washington, D.C.|
