Music Graduate to Further Service Goals at Music Therapy Program

By the time 2016 graduate Leah Huber came to Southern Virginia University in 2011, she already knew what she wanted to do. Five years, many classes, a full-time mission, and one bachelor’s degree later, she is preparing to achieve her goals and study music therapy at Arizona State University this fall.


Southern Virginia to Host 4th Free Medical Clinic March 5-6

Southern Virginia University will coordinate with Remote Area Medical to host its fourth free clinic March 5-6, providing medical services to people in the area who are uninsured or in need of treatment.

Students Teach, Serve Through New Program at Local School

This semester marked the creation and launch of the BEST program, an initiative led by Southern Virginia University and the Buena Vista School System to create a community learning center at Enderly Heights Elementary School.


New Volunteers Serve Southern Virginia

During the past two decades, Southern Virginia University has regularly benefited from the dedicated, qualified and seasoned individuals who have volunteered as staff and faculty members. This semester, the university welcomes six new and returning volunteers to the campus community. 


Students Travel to Temple, Give Service on 10th Service Day

More than 200 Southern Virginia University students, faculty and staff attended the Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the university’s tenth Service Day last week.



Professor Receives Award for Outstanding Service
