Education Conference: Day One Summary

The 13th annual education conference at Southern Virginia University began Friday in Buena Vista, Va., with the theme: Let Freedom Ring. Hundreds of Latter-day Saints gathered to hear from some of the foremost thinkers on freedom along with men and women who have fought on the front lines of wars and in the halls of government.

Art Professor Makes History at the Louvre

Barbara Crawford, a professor of art at Southern Virginia University, is making history as an assistant to the famous American painter Cy Twombly, who was given a rare opportunity to create a painting that will cover a ceiling in the Louvre—a singular honor and a first for an American.

New Director and Volunteer for Career Development Center

President and Sister Faust Awarded University’s Highest Honor

President James E. Faust, former 2nd Counselor in the First Presidency, and his wife, Ruth Wright, Sunday were honored posthumously with Southern Virginia University’s Leader-Servant Award—the highest honor given by the university.
