Group Messaging

We are pleased to introduce a new campus messaging system that will:

  • let you opt to receive email from groups that interest you.
  • minimize the number of general emails that go out to all students.
  • allow you to receive text and/or email messages.
  • allow groups to maintain their own communications.

Signing up and logging in

To get started, click on “Request a Password” Enter your email address and follow the instructions until you have created a password.

After submitting your new password, you will be directed to a screen with these three tabs: Email & Phone, Join a Group and Group Notifications.

Email & Phone tab

In this tab, you will be able to:

  • add/update your email address and/or phone number
  • manage alerts and messages sent to you

As you manage your telephone preferences, please specify the carrier. Next, select whether you would like to receive notifications through text, voice or both. If you select voice, messages will be sent to your voicemail.

Join a Group tab

From here, you will be able to specify the groups from which you would like to receive alerts and messages. There are two types of groups, Private and Public. Please note that private groups require approval to join; public groups are open for any member of the university community to join.

Group Notification tab

From this tab, you will be able to:

  • manage the text/email frequency specific to your selected groups.
  • unsubscribe from your selected groups.
Please note that some groups, such as “Alerts,” do not allow you to unsubscribe.
