Southern Virginia University seeks a full-time Director of Debate and Speech. The position begins August 2017.
At least a Master’s in communications, rhetoric, or related field is required. Experience in college debate is required, especially in Policy or Parliamentary debate. Experience working in a small-college setting, and experience in college recruiting are strong positives. Responsibilities of the Director of Debate and Speech include: Coaching a debate team of between 15 and 45 students, travelling to 4 to 6 intercollegiate debate tournaments per academic year, and making one recruiting trip per year.
