Kenson Hiatt is the Student Career Advisement Coordinator at Southern Virginia. He is also a counselor in the Student Support Center. He is responsible for the Strengths initiative at Southern Virginia, which includes administering the StrengthsFinder assessment and providing Strengths coaching to students, staff, and faculty. Kenson is also the Director of Zion’s Camp, an intensive summer camp designed to help youth prepare for missionary service.
Kenson graduated from Southern Virginia in 2012 with a bachelor’s in Business Management and Leadership. He graduated from Liberty University in 2016 with a master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy. He is a proud Knight and a believer in Southern Virginia’s model of education. He also believes in every person’s potential to succeed and is passionate about helping people discover and use their talents.
Kenson is married to Ashley Hiatt, the Director of Admissions at Southern Virginia. Kenson and Ashley live in Buena Vista with their daughter, Naomi (a.k.a. “Little Toot”) and are expecting their second child in February 2017. Kenson and Ashley love Southern Virginia and look forward to having their children attend Southern Virginia in the future.
