Dave Hunt is an instructor of French at Southern Virginia University.
He joined the Southern Virginia University faculty in 2015. He graduated from Brigham Young University where he received a bachelor’s in French and a master’s in French Literature. He worked at BYU from 1974 to 1978 as an undergraduate teaching assistant, and a graduate teaching assistant of French. He also taught French to LDS missionaries between 1973 and 1975. He then worked in the field of corporate language translation for 37 years, living with his family in London, England for two years between 1985 and 1987, and Montreal, Canada between 1987 and 1988.
He had the great privilege of serving an LDS mission to France and Switzerland for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Heather, are the parents of six children, and grandparents of 15. They live in Lexington, Virginia, and are members of the Lexington Ward of the LDS Church, while serving also in the Buena Vista YSA 3rd Ward.
Hunt is also an avid bluegrass musician and is enjoying many musical opportunities here in Virginia.
