Brett Garcia is the chief of staff and vice president of strategy at Southern Virginia University.
Garcia came to Southern Virginia as dean of admissions in September 2009. He previously worked at Bausch & Lomb, where he was a territory manager in Oregon and Idaho. Prior to holding that position he spent five years with Pfizer, Inc. While at Pfizer, he received numerous awards for high achievements, including the prestigious Vice President’s Cabinet award, which he received twice. He also co-owned a company that provided industrial training seminars. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an emphasis in marketing.
Garcia served a fulltime mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Milan, Italy. He and his wife, Suzanne, live in Buena Vista, Va. with their three sons.
