Typical Duties:

  • Advertising opportunities and events to the campus community
  • Acting as a liaison between potential employers and students
  • Coordinating placement opportunities for students
  • Assisting in the development of a business network
  • Working with faculty and staff to coordinate the career efforts of the university
  • Acting as an ambassador to career professionals in the area
  • Creating a Career Development Office that is inviting and informative to students
  • Involvement in the center’s decision making process
Desired Attributes:
  • Be able to accomplish tasks unsupervised
  • Be an effective communicator

  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Interpersonal skills
Other Information:

The internship is flexible with class and work schedules, and may be used for general elective credit with pre-approval from the Registrar.

Development and Fundraising Intern

Program: Institutional Advancement Office
Paid or Unpaid: Unpaid
Typical Duties:

  • Conduct research of available grants/grant writing
  • Organize fundraising events, Homecoming, Annual Art Show
  • Organize donor database
  • Develop and disseminate fundraising materials
  • Help with miscellaneous office projects
Desired Attributes:

The Institutional Advancement team seeks a highly motivated and trustworthy student who is interested in gaining experience in non-profit fundraising and development. The applicant should have good oral and written communication skills; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, some Publisher) is necessary. The applicant should also be capable of working independently, within a team setting. Respect for privacy and sensitivity is essential, as the intern will be working with confidential information.
