How to Sign Up

Domestic Trips

• Register for your course(s) through MySVU
• If course registration is closed, visit the Registrar's office to sign up for the course(s)

For International Trips

• Register for your course(s) through MySVU
• Fill out and turn in an Intent to Travel Form (PDF) along with a $200 deposit to the Student Financial Services Office
• Fill out and turn in a Travel Study Application (PDF) to the Travel Study Office

Cancellation Policy

• A student may only receive a refund of their payments and up to $150 of their deposit if he/she applies for cancellation within ten business days of submitting an Intent to Travel Form AND finds an eligible student replacement for the trip.

Please visit the Travel Study Office in Main Hall 226 to pick up the necessary forms.

Insurance

Students traveling abroad with Southern Virginia University will be required to have health insurance. Students should check their current health insurance to make sure that it covers them while abroad. SVU offers a travel co-insurance package that functions as additional coverage to your personal insurance coverage. This co-insurance is required for international trips and the cost of the insurance is included in the cost of the trip.

Non-Southern Virginia Students

Those wishing to participate in a Southern Virginia University Travel Study trip who do not currently attend the university should contact the Travel Study Office or fill out an application below.
